Anti-Bullying Week Celebrations 2020

9th Nov 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am writing to inform you that we will be celebrating Anti-Bullying Week at Good Shepherd Primary & Nursery School, week beginning Monday 16th November.

The theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2020 is: United Against Bullying.

On Monday 16th November we are encouraging the children (Nursery-P7) to wear ‘Odd Socks’ to school in order to highlight that we are all unique, special and should celebrate our differences.

Each class will be participating in a range of lessons and activities in order to highlight bullying, different forms of bullying, and what we must do if we think we, or a friend is being bullied.

P1-P7 will participate in an anti-bullying poster competition, and should be completed as part of the children’s homework, in order to support and reinforce classwork. Each child should submit their entry to their class teacher on Friday 20th November. 1 winner will be chosen from each class by Mrs McCafferty, and announced on Friday 27th November. This aims to provide an opportunity at home to discuss bullying behaviours and speaking out. Good luck everyone!

Please find below, an information pack for parents/carers, and a link to the NI Anti-Bullying Forum.

Kind Regards,

Mrs Suzann McCafferty
